What is Shopify’s bulk editor? The massive editor corresponds to a tool that allows you to modify aspects of several products from the same control panel. In this way, you can make modifications quickly and efficiently. This has a similar appearance to a spreadsheet and allows you to edit different properties.

In this post, we will discuss How to use Shopify’s bulk editor? This tool will be useful to you to correct labels or products, place comparison prices. And new prices in offers that you deliver, manage inventory, manage product availability and much more.

Chrome, Firefox and Safari browsers are recommended to use the bulk editor. This is because it uses URL parameters and sometimes exceeds the capabilities of Internet Explorer or other browsers.

How to use Shopify’s bulk editor

The first thing to do is select the products we want to edit, there are 3 ways to do this.

Pick them one by one.

We will go to the products page, where they will all be listed. At the beginning of each row, you will notice that there is a square that allows you to select each product. In this way, you must indicate the ones you want to edit.

Select within a range.

You can use the search tool to filter the products you want to modify. Then to select them within a range. You must hold down the ‘Shift’ button on the keyboard, select the first product and then select a second. You will see that all the products between the two you chose will be selected.

All products on the page

At the beginning of the page, on the selection squares of each product. There is a square-shaped button that will select all the products that you can load at the same time. This corresponds to a maximum of 50 products that you can edit at one time.

When you have finished selecting the products you want to edit, just under the filter. You will see the indicator of how many products are indicated. And next to it, a button ‘Edit products’. Clicking on the button will take you to the bulk editor.

In it, a table appears in which each row corresponds to a product. And the columns are editable fields. By default, prices and reference prices will appear. You will see that these are under the heading “editing these fields at this time” on the table. Next to each one, there is an ‘X that allows you to eliminate the fields that you do not want to modify. In the same way, if you select the “add field” button. A drop-down will open that offers you to add aspects that you want to edit.

Quick Edit Tips

Edit multiple adjacent products.

You can again use the ‘Shift’ button to select a range of editable fields. Hold it down while you select two cells. Then click on any of them. And you will see that the change you make will be applied to all those that were within the range.

Select multiple products (not adjacent).

By holding down the ‘ALT’ button on pc and ‘Command’ on Mac. You can select multiple cells to apply the same change without the need for them to be side by side. Again the same modifications will be applied to all selected cells.

Finally, just save and go. Mass upload ready.

It might be a bit confusing at first, but this tool will help you save a lot of time as well as keep your product information neat. Make it part of your everyday Shopify uses and master the tool.

When saving it is very important to make sure that the changes have been uploaded. How do you know this? You will notice that in every product you edit. It will be indicated with a period at the beginning of the row. When you click on ‘save’, the points will turn into a ‘check’ that indicates that the change has been applied. And they will disappear. You must make sure that this happens with all the edited products. Otherwise, you will lose all the work done.

Design your Shopify online store

To design your Shopify store you will have to go to the Online Store section. There you will find the options for Topics, Blogs, Pages, Navigation. All of these will help you customize your online store for the user.

Topics

In this section, you can choose the theme you want to apply to your store and its speed score.

To choose the theme you want you can go to Free Themes or Shopify Theme Store. If none of the nine free ones convinces you.

Blogs

Something that you can also do when customizing your store is to add a blog. This can help you increase the relevance of your page, through SEO. You can start looking for topics related to your brand and that you think may interest your readers.

Pages

In this section, you can create pages that do not change frequently. Or which clients access on a very recurring basis. These could be the Frequently Asked Questions pages, the Privacy Policy page, the Terms and Conditions page, etc.
For example, you can include an About Us page and explain information about your company, which will not need to be modified every couple of hours or days. At most, surely, you will modify it once a year.

To create these types of pages go to Pages> Add page. You can create a page that is not visible to the public, so you can edit it again before publishing. The creation of the content is very similar to what we have seen before creating a product. You will have the option to add links, tables of contents, images or videos to these pages. You can even add a map from Google Maps.

Navigation

From Navigation, you can choose the sections into which your store is divided.
You will be able to create menus, with main product categories, and categories within these categories.

You can create as many menus as you want, but it is recommended that there be no more than two sub-categories, so as not to lengthen the conversion path (or conversion path) of your clients.
